For over 24 years the Foodbank has been and continues to be a charitable organization that solicits, receives, inventories, stores and distributes purchased and donated food and grocery products to charitable agencies that directly help the needy.   Since inception in 1986, the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula has distributed over 92,417,674 pounds of food to the communities of Newport News, Gloucester, Hampton, Mathews, Williamsburg, Poquoson, Surry, James City County and York.   100% of all donations are processed through PayPal Secure Payments and go directly to Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula. No set donation amount, you can donate any amount you like. For every $1 you donate, the Foodbank of the Virginia Penninsula turns in to the equivalent of $10 worth of food for the needy in our communities.   This fundraiser is for the visitors and members of ZipDo Community to come together to help reach our goal of raising $5,023 by 11/21/2010.   (ZipDo does not get a percentage of the donations and only provides this resource to organize this fundraiser as the administrators way to pay it foward.)
